Sunday Worship & Recreation

We opened our morning with another hearty breakfast. Initially we were going to worship at a local evangelical spanish church but we had a change of plans and coordinated our own service. We held this impromptu service under the covered pool deck area. It was a great morning of prayer and praise.

After our service we were treated to a Nicaraguan BBQ on the pool deck. Then we went down to the beach and played some good old Americana Football. It was a great last day at the Surf Sanctuary. Our time in Nicaragua has been a blast. But, like most good things this side of the age to come they come to an end. We're coming home. See you all soon.

Sunny Saturday

Saturday half the group had the opportunity to go to San Juan Del Sur for swimming, zip lining, eating, shopping and all around exploration. Some of the group went zip lining through the trees on a 17 stage descent in the mountains of San Juan Del Sur. They said it was a great time. Others of us enjoyed great cuisine at at nice place called Bambu. While others enjoyed finding trinkets in the local shops. Over looking the bay is a giant rendition (statue) of Jesus Christ. A few of the students accompanied by leader Dan Franklin haled a cab and made the short trip up the mountain to overlook the bay underneath the giant Jesus. Our half of the group had a great time. Meanwhile, the other part of our group was helping to set up and aid in hosting a surf competition in La Boquita. Some 300 people were in attendance with over 20 local surfers competing in the competition. Overall those assisting with the competition were of great help and had a great time.
